Job summary

Coinford Holdings Ltd is recruiting skilled Excavator Operators for a busy groundwork project in West Sussex. You will operate 360 tracked excavators to break out and remove existing hardstanding, load arisings and assist with earthworks, while maintaining safety and plant care.

You will join a site team, work with other trades, and follow site safety procedures. CSCS/NPORS credentials and relevant experience are essential.

Qualifications

• CPCS / NPORS (CSCS affiliated) Excavator 10t tracked or similar.
• CPCS Lifting Ops / NPORS Excavator as Crane.
• Safety Critical Medical (site specific).
• Right to work in the UK.
• Experience carrying out hardstanding removal and breaking-out works.
• Desirable: 5+ years of experience and CSCS affiliated cards.

Responsibilities

• Breaking out and removing hardstanding materials like concrete, tarmac and slabs.
• Excavating and removing broken-out materials.
• Digging strip foundations and trenches to drawings and levels.
• Preparing areas for subsequent excavation or construction activities.
• Topsoil levelling and road formation works.
• Lifting and working with trench boxes and related equipment.
• Ensure dig permits where required and safety around live services.
• Daily pre-start plant safety inspections and basic maintenance.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for skilled and experienced Excavator Operators to join our groundwork teams on a busy project in West Sussex.

The role will primarily involve operating 360 tracked excavators to break out and remove existing hardstanding, including concrete, tarmac, slabs and other construction materials, safely and efficiently.

You will work as part of a site team to remove existing materials, load and move arisings and prepare areas for subsequent construction works, whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and plant care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Breaking out and removing existing hardstanding, including concrete, tarmac, slabs and other materials
• Excavating and removing broken-out materials
• Digging strip foundations, trenches and bulk excavations to drawings and levels
• Preparing areas for subsequent excavation, earthworks or construction activities
• Topsoil levelling, type 1 / crush placement and road formation works
• Lifting and working with trench boxes, manhole boxes and trench sheets
• Acknowledging the need for dig permits before breaking ground
• Experienced working around live services and in service avoidance techniques
• Carrying out daily pre-start plant safety inspections and maintenance checks
• Carrying out essential greasing and basic maintenance, keeping machines clean and tidy

REQUIREMENTS

• CPCS / NPORS (CSCS-affiliated) Excavator +/- 10t Tracked*
• CPCS Lifting Ops / NPORS* Excavator as Crane
• Safety Critical Medical (site specific)
• Reliable, punctual and able to work well with other trades
• Right to work in the UK
• Experience carrying out hardstanding removal and breaking-out works

DESIRABLE

• CPCS / NPORS* Forward Tipping Dumper
• CPCS / NPORS* Ride-On Roller
• 5+ years of experience
