Job summary

Global Ardour Recycling is seeking a Multi-Skilled Operative in Bristol to support busy operations at our site. You will operate 360 grab driver machinery, assist with ELV depollution, and perform yard duties while ensuring safe loading and movement of vehicles.

The role requires recycling/scrap experience, strong mechanical ability, and the capability to work under pressure while maintaining high safety and customer service standards. Training will be provided for site-specific processes.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant machinery including 360 scrap handler, loading shovel, skid steer, FLT, shredder.
• Depollute End-of-Life Vehicles (ELVs) and store parts safely with full training provided.
• Carry out yard duties and general site tasks to keep areas clean and safe.
• Ensure safe loading of containers and movement of vehicles on and off container tilter loader.
• Adhere to all HS procedures and report defects immediately.

Salary:Potential earnings from £33,696 upwards

The role:

We are looking for an experienced 360 Grab Driver / Machine Operator to support the operations at our Bristol site.

What you will be doing:

• Operating plant machinery including 360 scrap handler, loading shovel, skid steer, FLT, shredder plus
• Undertaking the depollution of End-of-Life Vehicles (ELVs) – removing and storing parts safely (full training provided)
• Working on the picking line
• Banksman duties
• General yard work
• Responsible for ensuring the safe loading of containers on site
• Ensuring the safe movement and manoeuvring of vehicles on and off the container tilter loader
• Working closely with others, ensuring good communication and following instructions
• To work within and to adopt all H&S procedures that are in force at all the companies' depots.
• To inform management immediately of any defects that may cause any item of equipment to be either unsafe or unroadworthy.
• To keep the yard clean and tidy and free from hazards
• Removing of catalytic convertors from vehicles
• Any other ad-hoc duties required

The ideal candidate:

• Recycling / scrap experience
• 360 grab driver experience is essential
• Experience of removing engines
• An ability to work under pressure, solve problems and provide a consistently positive contribution to the team
• Mechanical experience
• You will also: ensure high standards of delivery and customer service; be determined, resilient and flexible; demonstrate a positive attitude
