Job summary

360 Excavator Operator (10 Tonne) in Warrington is advertised for a long-term contract with potential for permanent placement. The role requires operating a 360 excavator with grab/clamshell attachments, maintaining stockpiles, and ensuring safe, efficient loading/unloading of freight vehicles.

Core hours are 06:00–20:00 with some flexibility for late rail services. PPE is provided; on-site training and mentoring are available, in a stable operations team.

Qualifications

• NPORS or CPCS certification for operating a 360 excavator.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience operating a 360 excavator.
• At least 2 years' experience using grab or clamshell attachments.
• Full UK Driving Licence; ability to commute to Warrington.
• Good level of physical fitness; strong team-working skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate a 360 excavator (about 10 tonnes) with grab and clamshell attachments.
• Organise and maintain terminal stockpiles for efficiency and accessibility.
• Keep walkways and operational areas safe and clear.
• Load/unload HGVs and rail freight wagons safely and efficiently.
• Perform daily plant inspections and maintenance checks.
• Report equipment defects to minimise downtime.
• Follow Health & Safety procedures at all times.
• Assist with basic admin duties including weighbridge and office tasks.
• Guide HGV drivers and visitors to ensure safe operations.

We're looking for an experienced 360 Excavator Operator to join our busy operations team based in the Warrington area. Due to continued growth and increased workload, this is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term contract with the potential to become a permanent position.

Working Hours

Core operating hours are 06:00 - 20:00. Flexibility is essential, as occasional changes may be required to accommodate late-running rail services.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating a 360 excavator (approximately 10 tonnes) using grab and clamshell attachments
• Organising and maintaining terminal stockpiles to maximise efficiency and accessibility
• Keeping walkways, access routes and operational areas safe and clear
• Loading and unloading HGVs and rail freight wagons safely and efficiently
• Completing daily plant inspections, maintenance checks and fluid level records
• Reporting equipment defects promptly to minimise downtime
• Working safely at all times in line with company Health & Safety procedures
• Assisting with basic administrative duties, including weighbridge and office tasks
• Providing guidance to HGV drivers and visitors to ensure safe operations across the terminal

Essential Requirements

• NPORS or CPCS certification for operating a 360 Excavator
• A minimum of 2 years' experience operating a 360 excavator
• At least 2 years' experience using grab or clamshell attachments
• Full UK Driving LicenceAbility to commute to Warrington (ideally within 40 minutes)
• Good level of physical fitness
• A positive, reliable attitude and strong team-working skills
