Job Description:
Unit Description:

The Senior Behavioral Health Center (SBHC) is a geriatric psychiatric/behavioral unit staffed by registered and licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, unit coordinators, nurse practitioners, social workers, occupational therapists, activity coordinators, dietitians, and a physician medical director.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct nursing care to geriatric patients with psychiatric and physical co-morbidities.
  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Administer medications safely, including psychiatric medications.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive psychiatric and medical care to patients and families.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Current Massachusetts RN License
  • Evidence of Continuing Education
  • Previous RN experience required; Med/Surg experience preferred
  • AHABLS certification required
Recommended Requirements:
  • Documented professional development activities

  • Experience with geriatric psychiatric population
