Job summary

Salford Council is seeking an Assistant Cook to join a tight-knit team, delivering high-quality catering and stepping in for the Cook Supervisor when needed. The role requires supervisory experience in a commercial setting and a strong focus on food presentation and customer care.

NVQ 2 in Catering or City & Guilds 706/2 in Catering is required; Basic Hygiene certificate is desirable. The post is 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 2:30pm, with a permanent, all-year-round contract.

About the role

As an Assistant Cook you will work with a tight knit team to ensure that the food served is of a high standard. You would be responsible for ensuring that a quality catering service is maintained whilst covering for the absence of the Cook Supervisor. Supervisory experience within a commercial environment is essential together with a high standard of food presentation and excellent customer care skills. Possession of NVQ 2 in Catering or City and Guilds 706/2 in Catering qualification is required and a current Basic Hygiene certificate is desirable.
