Job summary

Veolia in Folkestone is hiring a 3.5T Driver/Operative at Ross Depot. You will work 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 06:00–15:00, earning £14.47 per hour.

This role involves street sweeping, gully clearance, litter bin emptying, reporting graffiti and damaged equipment, and vehicle checks after training. Responsibilities

• Manual sweeping of streets and areas.
• Ensure gullies are clear and sweepings are not pushed into grids.
• Empty litter bins and replace liners; collect sweeper bags.
• Report graffiti, flyposting or damaged bins to line Manager.
• Check vehicle condition and road worthiness; complete forms.
• Drive and operate Veolia vehicles after training.

What you’ll be doing;

• Manual sweeping of streets and other areas (which can include footways, alleys, subways, under and around street furniture etc)
• Ensure that all Gully Grids are clear of any obstruction and that sweepings arising are not swept over or pushed down gully grids.
• Empty litter bins found within your beat, ensure that the liners are replaced properly, and collect sweeper bags
• Report locations of any graffiti, fly posting or damage/missing litter bins and waste containers to your line Manager
• Check your vehicle for condition and road worthiness and complete the appropriate forms
• Drive and operate any vehicle supplied by Veolia, having first received the relevant training

Desirable:

• Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial
• Waste experience
