Job summary

HSS ProService Limited is looking for a 3.5t Driver to support daily deliveries and on-site operations at customer sites. You will handle loading/unloading, maintain vehicle standards, and communicate clearly with customers and colleagues to ensure smooth service delivery.

This role requires adherence to health and safety procedures, the ability to obtain BPSS/SC clearance for Naval sites, and a proactive, collaborative approach to problem solving. A valid UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Driving Licence (UK)
• Understanding of safe loading and unloading processes and manual handling
• Positive, flexible and proactive attitude with teamwork
• Must be able to obtain BPSS & SC Clearance for Naval site work
• Tacho Card is desirable but not essential

Responsibilities

• Safely complete daily deliveries and collections, following planned routes and providing excellent customer service throughout.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks, report defects promptly, keep vehicle clean and roadworthy.
• Load, unload and secure goods safely and accurately to prevent damage.
• Communicate delivery updates professionally with customers.
• Use company technology to manage deliveries and report any issues.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures, wear PPE, and maintain records including driving hours.
• Escort non-security-cleared contractors on-site when required, ensuring safety procedures.
• Provide support to on-site engineers to ensure efficient service delivery.

A typical day as a 3.5t Driver

No two days look exactly the same here, and that's part of what makes it work.

As a 3.5t Driver, you'll play a key part in keeping things moving for our customers, suppliers and The Pros around you. You'll take ownership, solve problems properly, and work with people across the business to make things simpler, faster and better.

You'll be trusted to get stuck in, make decisions, and see things through.

Shift Pattern - Monday to Friday 07:00- 16:30

What you'll be doing

• Safely complete daily deliveries and collections, following planned routes and providing excellent customer service throughout.

• Conduct daily vehicle checks, report any defects promptly, and ensure the vehicle is kept clean, roadworthy, and compliant.

• Load, unload, and secure goods safely and accurately, ensuring all items are transported without damage.

• Communicate effectively with customers, providing delivery updates and maintaining a professional, helpful approach at all times.

• Use company technology to manage deliveries, complete required checks, and report any damaged items, incidents, or issues.

• Adhere to all health and safety procedures, wear the required PPE, and maintain accurate records including driving hours and vehicle documentation.

• Escort non-security-cleared contractors and suppliers on-site when required, ensuring compliance with site access and safety procedures.

• Provide support to on-site engineers as required, assisting with operational tasks to ensure efficient service delivery.

What you'll bring

You don't need to tick every single box, but you'll likely bring:

• A valid UK Driving License

• A good understanding of safe loading and unloading processes, manual handling

• A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude, with a willingness to support the team

• Must be able to obtain Government BPSS & SC Clearance in line with working on Naval site

• A Tacho Card is desirable but not essential
