People Solutions are currently recruiting for Van Drivers to join our well-established client based in the Tamworth area.

Our client is willing to accept new passes and the ideal candidate will be up-skilled onto HGV trucks within their employment.

Guaranteed progression from 3.5T to 7.5T to Class 2 to Class 1!

As a Van Driver you will receive the following benefits:

Rates of Pay

• Basic: £12.89 per hour

Day to Day Duties

Your duties as a Van Driver will involve but not be limited to:

• Multi drop deliveries of up to between 17 and 23 drops per day.
• Deliveries are made using pump truck and sack barrel, all stock is palletised (multiple customers on one pallet)
• Drivers are required to break down the pallets and deliver inside customer premises. Not doorstep deliveries.
• Ensure that the Company vehicle allocated is maintained in a roadworthy and clean condition, documenting appropriate checks and reporting any faults immediately.
• Ensure duties are carried out within legal requirements.
• Ensure all scheduled deliveries and collections are completed on time, in full on a daily basis.
• Deliver to customers as directed and assist with unloading and taking to final delivery point as requested. Report any problems with delivery sites.
• Ensure that all POD paperwork is correct and signed for either on paper or electronically using Microlise device.
• Present a professional image to the customer, be pleasant and comply with company dress requirements.

As a Van Driver you will need to have:

• Valid UK Category B Driving Licence
• Satisfactory driving record
• Maximum of six penalty points on your Licence
• Knowledge of East Midlands area preferred
• Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
• Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
• Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
• Previous experience with multi drop deliveries will be beneficial

Training

• Driver's Assessment must be completed prior to starting
• Industry related training and ongoing support throughout
