Job summary

Tank Recruitment is seeking a 2nd Line IT Engineer for a full-time, permanent role in the United Kingdom. The role involves supporting, investigating and resolving issues across MSP clients, with hybrid working options and a broad technical remit.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of IT experience in corporate environments, strong Windows 11 and macOS skills, MS 365 admin experience, and excellent communication abilities. DBS check required.

Qualifications

• Must have strong Windows 11 installation and configuration skills.
• Must have macOS installation and configuration experience.
• Proficient with the Microsoft 365 admin suite (Intune, SharePoint, Teams, Exchange, Entra ID).
• Experience with email filtering technologies (Mimecast, Barracuda, or similar).
• Experience with Microsoft Server operating systems and server roles.
• Good working knowledge of networking fundamentals (firewalls, switches, wireless).
• Minimum 3 years IT experience in a corporate or service-based environment.
• Strong scripting and automation capabilities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-resolution abilities.

Responsibilities

• Act as first point of contact for incoming support calls, emails and remote sessions as needed.
• Escalate to Tier 1 engineers when required and mentor juniors.
• Log all interactions accurately and keep clients updated.
• Manage incidents and requests in line with SLAs.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives with the Tier 2 Manager.
• Mentor apprentice and Tier 1 engineers.
• Communicate with clients daily on open tickets and manage expectations.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors as needed.
• Maintain and improve cloud infrastructure.
• Draft Change Requests and manage end-to-end onboarding/offboarding.
