Job summary

Carnival UK, the operating company for P&O Cruises & Cunard, is seeking a 2nd Engineer Officer. You will run and maintain onboard machinery, lead the watchkeeping team, and contribute to safe, efficient ship operations while traveling globally. Experience at sea is beneficial, but not essential.

Required: 2nd Engineering OOW Unlimited CoC III/2 for Motorships, STCW High Voltage Management training. Vaccination status per cruise policy may apply.

Job Description

You will run and maintain the onboard machinery and equipment to keep the ship as safe and efficient as possible, as well as take a leading role in the 24 hour watchkeeping team. Meanwhile, you will visit exciting places, explore new worlds and gain experiences that stay with you for a lifetime.

To apply for our 2nd Engineer Officer opportunity you will need:

• 2nd Engineering OOW Unlimited Certificate of Competency (CoC) III/2 for Motorships Only (essential)
• STCW High Voltage Management training certificate.

In addition to a strong technical background, you will love problem solving, fixing things and being hands on. You will be self-motivated and dependable, and always keen to take on more work whilst helping others. You will be a natural communicator, often asking questions and sharing knowledge, and able to easily adapt your style to suit the situation.

Experience on board a cruise ship is not essential.

Crew are recommended to be up-to-date with their COVID-19 vaccinations prior to joining a ship, if available.
