Job summary

Prestige Recruitment Specialists is recruiting for a Process Shift Technician in Hull to join a specialist fused minerals manufacturer. You will operate and monitor process equipment, prepare materials, complete production batches, and perform routine inspections across a 24/7 rotating shift.

You will work with the Production Supervisor and team to maintain production standards, ensure safety, and comply with procedures. The role offers training across plant equipment and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Experience working in process manufacturing or industrial production.
• Experience operating production machinery or process plant.
• Forklift truck experience.
• Strong health and safety understanding in industrial environments.
• Ability to follow operating procedures, batch instructions and production specifications.
• Good attention to detail regarding product quality and process conditions.
• Ability to identify and report faults, abnormalities and issues.
• Willingness to work a 24/7 rotating shift pattern (days, nights, weekends, bank holidays).
• Ability to work well in a team and independently when required.

Responsibilities

• Operate rotary kilns, coolers and related finishing equipment per procedures.
• Prepare and feed blending equipment to meet production schedules.
• Operate, monitor and safely discharge blenders while maintaining batch integrity.
• Record operating conditions, process parameters and batch information.
• Inspect plant and equipment and report defects or issues promptly.
• Monitor feed systems, silos and equipment ensuring a steady material supply.
• Inspect screening equipment for damage or blockages and perform cleaning/replacement as needed.
• Prepare and operate blending equipment per batch cards and production instructions.
• Collect representative samples for Quality Control testing and discharge batches to packaging/storage areas.
• Label products with grade, batch, weight and customer information.
• Conduct routine visual inspections for leaks, dust, noise, temperatures and equipment faults.
• Monitor LEV and dust collection performance and manage disposal of fines.
• Operate FLTs and other plant equipment after training.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards across production areas.
• Report safety, quality or production deviations to the supervisor.
• Adhere to HSE policies and safe working systems.
• Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, efficiency and housekeeping.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to maintain operational efficiency.
