Job summary

Gattaca is seeking a Power Control Specialist to operate generation and transmission assets from a 24/7 control room. The role emphasizes safe operation, procedural compliance, and escalation handling to support business continuity and asset reliability.

You will manage SCADA alarms, contribute to incident handling, and liaise with network operators and maintenance providers while maintaining competencies for authorisations and REMIT/Grid Code compliance.

Qualifications

• Practical experience operating SCADA in a real-time environment.
• Experience in electrical power generation or transmission.
• Ability to work accurately within procedures and authorisation limits.
• Strong prioritisation and situational awareness.
• Clear communication during routine and emergency situations.
• Experience as AP or SAP is preferred.
• Knowledge of REMIT and Grid Code requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out generation and transmission power control activities in accordance with standards and procedures.
• Support timely publication of market and regulatory notifications by validating information.
• Apply and maintain specialist knowledge across regions and platforms to resolve issues.
