Job summary

The South West Yorkshire Partnership Teaching NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Psychiatric Liaison Nurse to provide assessment, support and training across Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Trust sites. You will undertake highly developed clinical assessments, work within a 24-hour rota and ensure timely face-to-face assessments within 1 hour for urgent referrals.

Qualifications

• Must hold current NMC registration and be eligible to practise in the UK.
• Experience in acute trust settings or equivalent environment.
• Strong assessment and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and liaison with multiple agencies.

Responsibilities

• Undertake assessments in Acute Trust settings as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Provide 24-hour cover for the psychiatric liaison service.
• Act as advisor to external agencies and provide specialist mental health advice.
• Ensure safe prescribing or management of medications as per local protocols.
• Maintain NMC registration and participate in supervision and professional development.
