The Role
The post holder will work as a key member of the Respiratory Team providing a professional, highly skilled, efficient, high quality diagnostic and screening service to patients attending the hospital and to deputise for the Respiratory Service Manager, in both clinical and managerial issues, as required. The service is run in accordance with National and International Standards and supports best clinical practice

What we'll need you to bring
BSc. in Clinical physiology or other relevant subject plus ARTP parts 1 & 2
or equivalent academic and work experience.
Operating at a level to be RCCP registered.
Evidence of certificated courses, internal and external, on basic and specialised procedures for CPD portfolio, in keeping with standards set by
Health Professional Council and Registration Council for Clinical Physiology.
Must have completed a wide variety of formal, accredited courses on specific procedures and disease processes.
Expected to continually update knowledge and skills to provide optimum care.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience At Grade Below.
Must be able to use own initiative when dealing with issues within own specialist area of competence.
Must have a working knowledge of relevant national standards, professional guidelines and local rules and safety practices.
Must have experience in using specialist software packages for pulmonary function tests and sleep screening.
Must be able to use general computer software packages such as Word.
Must have up to date knowledge of Basic Adult Life Support.
Must be able to communicate complex information to other professional groups (including manufacturers).
Must be able to train groups of other professional staff.
Must be able to deal with complex and unpredictable situations e.g. patients becoming unwell during testing, unco-operative patients.
Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

Please note this is a fixed term post for 12 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in University Hospital Wishaw
