  • Assisting with earthing studies, soil resistivity interpretation, earth grid layouts, touch and step voltage assessment, bonding requirements, lightning protection risk assessment, equipment schedules, and technical specifications.
  • Gaining exposure to HV substations, grid connections, buried earthing systems, fault current assessment, site constraints, construction interfaces, testing requirements, and multidisciplinary design coordination.
  • Contributing to health and safety reviews and hazard identification in accordance with the CDM Regulations, with a focus on electrical safety, safe touch and step voltages, constructability, maintainability, sustainability, and environmental compliance.
What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for passionate and driven graduates who are interested in earthing systems, bonding, lightning protection, electrical safety, and the role of resilient electrical infrastructure in the UK’s energy transition. If you’re committed to delivering exceptional work, eager to embrace new challenges, and motivated by opportunities to grow and make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.

Our clients are at the heart of everything we do - so if you bring a proactive mindset and a positive, can‑do attitude, you’ll thrive here.

  • A minimum 2:1 in a relevant engineering degree, such as Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Power Engineering, Civil Engineering with electrical infrastructure experience, or a closely related discipline.
  • An interest in earthing systems, soil resistivity, HV substations, fault current, touch and step voltage, bonding, lightning protection, grid connections, renewables, or power system infrastructure.
  • A willingness to work collaboratively with engineers, clients, contractors, suppliers, and wider project teams in both office and site‑based environments.
What We Will Offer You
  • Mentorship and support towards chartership - We offer tailored mentorship and structured support to guide you through becoming professionally chartered, including access to experienced professionals for advice and coaching. You’ll build a strong portfolio, prepare for assessments, and develop key competencies while gaining hands‑on experience across diverse, technically complex projects in multiple sectors.
  • Exposure to high‑profile and technically challenging projects - Immerse yourself in a variety of innovative, technically challenging, and high‑impact projects that will sharpen and advance your skills. Our work spans multiple sectors, providing exposure to landmark designs and pioneering industry approaches.

We foster a friendly, inclusive environment where your ideas are heard, and your growth is a shared goal. You’ll be surrounded by people who are passionate about what they do and driven to make a difference.
Shape your future with us - where your creativity, drive, and aspirations make a difference.

Our commitment is to develop, train, and retain our graduates for the long term. Therefore, BakerHicks are unable to consider applications from candidates who are working under the Graduate visa route or other time‑limited visas, regardless of their duration, due to their temporary status and the future sponsorship requirements under the Skilled Worker route, set out by the UKVI.

This decision follows recent changes to the Skilled Worker visa regulations introduced by the UK Government in July 2025.

However, we welcome applications from candidates who are eligible under alternative UK immigration routes that do not require Skilled Worker sponsorship now or at any point in the future.

Many of the positions within our company are subject to security clearance or security assurance levels.

The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of security clearance or assurance level for this role, in line with client and sector requirements.

In some cases, additional nationality or residency criteria may also apply due to specific client or national security obligations.
