Rheinmetall Defence UK (RDUK) in Bristol is seeking a 1st Line IT Support Engineer to provide essential user support and maintain IT services across the business. You will act as the first point of contact for IT issues, assist with Microsoft 365, Windows, AD, and Intune, and help drive IT improvements while supporting travel to other UK sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 1st line IT support experience in an IT department or MSP.

Responsibilities

• Act as the initial contact for IT issues and provide low level fixes.
• Support Bristol office IT infrastructure, servers and assets.
• Travel occasionally to other UK Rheinmetall Defence UK facilities to support deployments and upgrades.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement IT solutions to support users and security standards.

The business is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual willing to assume a wide range of responsibilities within a dynamic and evolving environment.Reporting directly to the IT Support Manager, you will provide vital technical support for the ongoing and expanding day-to-day IT needs of the business. This strategic role provides the 1st line technical skills required to support this transition and drive the long-term growth of our Information Management & Technology (IM&T) division.The primary location for this role is our Bristol head office, with occasional UK travel required to support our other group sites.Position Responsibilities:Initial Point Of Contact: Act as the initial contact for local IT issues, providing initial troubleshooting and low level fixes, and supporting escalations as required.Bristol Site Support: Help manage and maintain the primary IT infrastructure, server rooms, and localized hardware & software assets at the Bristol officeCross-Site Mobility: Travel occasionally to secondary Rheinmetall Defence UK facilities to support deployments, upgrades, and local infrastructure projects.Continuous Improvement: Identify operational bottlenecks and proactively implement modern IT solutions to support a rapidly expanding user base.WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVERequired Experience & QualificationsTechnical Expertise: Strong background operating in 1st line systems administration, or infrastructure support role.Core Technology Stack: Knowledge of Microsoft 365 environments, Windows, Active Directory, Group Policy, Cloud systems and Intune.Vetting & Security: Must hold, or be fully eligible to obtain, UK Security Check (SC) clearance to handle sensitive defence sector data.ITIL experience with Service now or similar ITSM paltformPersonal Attributes: High energy, strong self-motivation, and a flexible mindset to handle diverse responsibilities in an evolving environment.Licensing: Full UK driving licence to facilitate required business travel between corporate sites.Key Competencies:Help develop and maintain core IT processes and policies which comply with all internal guidelines and security requirements.Ensure adherence to policies, processes, procedures and best practice throughout the delivery of IT services. Including educating users to comply with these and cyber security rules.Experience managing and supporting:-Applications, Entra / Azure / Microsoft Intune, Power Platform, Automation / Optimisation,Security stack, SharePoint, 365 Environments, Teams, Exchange Online, AI IntegrationService Now.Experience & Educational Requirements:Strong IT Background including demonstratable experience and knowledge within an IT department or MSP.
