Job description

A motivated and enthusiastic 1st / 2nd Line IT Technician to join our dynamic IT team. This position is designed for individuals passionate about cloud technologies and end-user support, eager to learn and grow. As an 1st / 2nd Line IT Technician, you will assist in supporting and maintaining cloud infrastructure and enhancing the end-user experience, gaining hands-on skills with cutting-edge technologies.

You will play a key role in shaping how end-user support is delivered to the business, with significant exposure to senior leaders, including Executive Committee members.

Responsibilities of the 1st / 2nd Line IT Technician include:

  1. Monitoring and maintaining Flood Re’s infrastructure and end-user systems
  2. Providing first and second-line support to users, remotely or at offices
  3. Assisting in overseeing the organisation’s Cyber Security threat detection and countermeasures platform
  4. Supporting and administering O365, Azure, and other SaaS platforms
  5. Managing the Jira support ticket platform, ensuring SLAs and timely responses
  6. Collaborating with managed service providers to meet SLAs and support needs
  7. Liaising with external technology providers to ensure timely support
  8. Managing user and device onboarding and offboarding processes
  9. Configuring laptops and hardware devices
  10. Maintaining hardware and software inventories
  11. Monitoring and troubleshooting meeting room AV equipment
  12. Continuously improving support processes and tools

Proactive engagement with vendor partners includes:

  1. Defining and enforcing SLAs and governance controls
  2. Ensuring data support landscape is well-documented and controlled
  3. Working with partners on innovative solutions for organisational challenges
  4. Implementing and governing security controls with vendors

Stakeholder management involves:

  1. Engaging with executive, board, and other internal stakeholders
  2. Collaborating across IT, Actuarial, Finance, Risk, Legal, Internal Audit, and Change Management teams
  3. Managing relationships with external vendors and infrastructure providers
Knowledge & Experience
  • Interest in technology and people-oriented support
  • Knowledge of first-line technical support
  • Experience with O365 user setup & security
  • Understanding of Exchange email configuration and security
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Strong communication skills for engaging stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to convey technical and strategic information effectively
  • Commitment to staying current with technological trends and best practices
  • Experience in the insurance or financial services sector is not required
