Job Description:

Location: Mountainhall Treatment Centre, NHS Dumfries and Galloway

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated hand team. The role involves working with outpatient caseloads including general MSK, rheumatologic, orthopaedic, and hand conditions, collaborating closely with Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, and primary care teams.

The responsibilities include:

1. Functional re-training
2. Orthotics, especially fabricating thermoplastic splints
3. Managing long-term conditions, joint protection, and adaptation
4. Implementing specific hand therapy programs
5. Promoting health behavior change
6. Vocational rehabilitation

Applications are welcome from Band 6 Occupational Therapists with relevant experience. Enthusiastic Band 5 candidates interested in career development will be considered, with a competency framework guiding progression to Band 6.
