Position: 121 Teaching Assistant Yr 4

Location: South Nottingham

Hours: Full-time

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: Temporary

Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behaviour Teaching Assistant to work 121 with a child in year 4. The successful candidate will work alongside teachers, behaviour specialists, and other staff members to support a student with behavioural and emotional challenges. This position offers an opportunity to make a real difference in students' lives by fostering a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist a yr 4 student with special behavioural needs in the classroom and other school settings.
  2. Implement behaviour intervention plans (BIPs) under the supervision of certified professionals.
  3. Support students in managing emotions and behaviours to promote academic and social success.
  4. Encourage the student to engage in classroom activities and help them meet learning goals.
  5. Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to monitor students' progress.
  6. Collect and document data on the student's behaviour.
  7. Help create and maintain a structured and safe learning environment.
  8. Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and support staff to share progress and concerns.
Required Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with children, particularly in special education or behavioural support settings.
  • Knowledge of behavioural management techniques and strategies.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A compassionate and patient attitude with a genuine desire to help students succeed.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, or a related field preferred).
