Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant in Newcastle for a full‑time, long‑term role starting September. You will support a wheelchair-using pupil, helping integrate them into the main classroom with personalised care and encouragement throughout the school day.

The role emphasizes building a strong pupil relationship, collaborating with teachers, and contributing to the pupil’s learning and wellbeing, with DBS and safeguarding training preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis is preferred.
• Kind, patient and nurturing nature.
• Appropriate qualifications and training relevant to the role.
• Full and valid DBS check, enhanced Disclosure & Bar-ing Service checked.
• Willingness to undertake or have undertaken child protection and prevent duty training.

1:1 Teaching Assistant – Full‑time, Newcastle – September start.

This is a full‑time long‑term role supporting a pupil who is a wheelchair user. The pupil accesses the curriculum within the mainstream classroom, and you will work closely alongside them throughout the school day, providing encouragement, care, and personalised support to help them thrive.
