Job summary

SSEN Distribution, part of the SSE group, are recruiting for an Automation technician responsible for installation/maintenance and fault repair of remotely controlled switchgear and communications systems up to 11kV. Travel across locations is required; a company vehicle may be provided.

The role emphasizes safety and requires driving licence, with a permanent onsite pattern and a salary between £45,452 and £54,311 plus benefits.

Qualifications

• SSEN operational authorisations CAT 1,2,4,5 and 7.
• Ability to manage own work program.
• Willingness to learn CAT 4E, CAT 7 and automation installations.
• Valid driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission automation schemes.
• Monitor and supervise contractors across the Ridgeway region.
• Fault finding, repairing and maintaining automation defects daily.
• Maintain and install automation equipment on the network up to 11 kV, ensuring timely works and quick restoration.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures at all times.
