Job summary

SSE’s SSEN Distribution arm is recruiting an Automation Technician to install, commission and maintain automation schemes on the electricity network up to 11 kV. You will monitor contractors and respond to faults, ensuring rapid restoration of power and compliance with safety policies.

A valid driving licence and willingness to travel are essential. Permanent, full-time, onsite role with a generous benefits package including family and wellbeing support.

Qualifications

• Operational authorisations CAT 1,2,4,5 and 7.
• Must have or be willing to obtain CAT 4E, CAT 7 training if required.
• Valid driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission automation schemes.
• Monitor and supervise contractors across the Ridgeway region.
• Fault finding, repair and maintenance of automation defects daily.
• Maintain automation electrical equipment on the network up to 11 kV and restore the network promptly.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures at all times.
