Job summary

St Thomas' CE Primary School in Stockton Heath, Cheshire, is seeking a caring and reliable Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with significant additional needs, under the guidance of teaching staff and the SENCO. The role requires a minimum NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent) and recent experience in a primary setting, including 1:1 support.

The post is term-time only, 30 hours per week.

The role

The Governors at St. Thomas’ are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual to offer effective support for teaching and learning opportunities, under the guidance of teaching staff and SENCO for a Key Stage 2 pupil (Year 4) with significant additional needs.

The Governors are seeking applications from teaching assistants who will:

• Be qualified at minimum NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent)
• Have relevant recent experience within the primary age range
• Have experience of working 1:1 with a pupil
• Have experience of supporting pupils with significant additional needs
• Engage and support pupil in their personalised curriculum through a variety of strategies
• Maintain and promote the Christian ethos of the school
