Job Description:

Axcis are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 child with SEND on a full-time, long-term basis starting September 2024. The role involves providing tailored support to enhance the child's learning experience and development.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide 1:1 support to a KS1 child with SEND, adapting learning materials and activities to meet individual needs.
  2. Assist with classroom management and ensure a safe, supportive learning environment.
  3. Implement and follow individualised education plans (IEPs) and contribute to their development and review.
  4. Support the child's social and emotional well-being, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
  5. Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals for cohesive support.
  6. Monitor and report on the child's progress, maintaining accurate records.
  7. Encourage independence and confidence in learning and daily activities.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with SEND, preferably in a school setting.
  • A relevant qualification in education or childcare (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to promoting an inclusive educational environment.
