Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a secondary school in Dalton-in-Furness. The role supports a specific student to access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve potential within an Ofsted GOOD environment.

You will help with academic progress, social development and emotional wellbeing, working closely with teachers, SENCO, and families in a supportive setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant in a secondary school setting.
• Patient, empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with staff, students and parents.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with specific educational needs in secondary education.
• Adapt learning materials and classroom activities for student engagement.
• Foster a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere in the classroom.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and SENCO.
• Manage behaviour using school policies and positive reinforcement.
