Job summary

SAST is seeking a caring, committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support for a named child. The role offers 27.08 hours per week, with Grade 5, Point 5-6, subject to experience.

You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider staff to ensure the child feels safe, supported, and included in all school life. The successful candidate will contribute to the child's learning and development, support emotional and social needs, and assist with recording observations.

Qualifications

• Experience with young children, ideally in primary settings.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Patient, nurturing and adaptable with the child’s needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a named child.
• Support emotional, social and academic development in class and activities.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and parents to adapt learning strategies.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with record keeping and observations.
