1:1 Teaching Assistant (Primary)

Location: Sheffield

Start: September 2024

Contract: Full-Time until at least Christmas

GSL Education is looking for a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our primary schools in Sheffield. This position offers an excellent opportunity to provide personalized support to a student, ensuring their educational and personal development.

Job summary:

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will deliver personalized tutoring sessions designed to meet the unique needs of your students. You will work closely with an individual student to support their academic progress and personal development, ensuring a positive and nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one support to a designated student, assisting with their academic work.
• Develop and implement personalized learning plans that cater to the student’s needs.
• Support the student in developing appropriate behavior and social skills.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and other staff to meet the student’s needs effectively.
• Monitor and document the student’s progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children, particularly in a one-on-one support role, is preferred.
• Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are advantageous.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• An updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
