Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is supporting a Church of England primary school in Wirral, Merseyside to recruit a caring 1:1 Teaching Assistant. You will work closely with a named pupil to support learning in a nurturing village school setting.

The role involves supporting individual learning, assisting small groups, helping during whole-class lessons, and supervising breaks to ensure safety. A relevant qualification and an enhanced DBS are required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
• Experience working with children in a school or similar setting.
• Mandatory Enhanced DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK.
• Strong communication and a warm, encouraging approach to children and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Support individual children with learning activities to promote engagement.
• Assist small groups to foster inclusive learning experiences.
• Help during whole-class lessons and facilitate smooth classroom operation.
• Supervise breaks and lunchtimes to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Assist with serving lunches and maintaining a positive environment throughout the day.
