Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Year 3 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a welcoming primary school in Nelson. The role provides individual support to a Year 3 pupil during term-time hours 8:30am–3:30pm.

Ideal candidates have experience with primary children and a Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable). DBS checks and safeguarding training are required.

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Year 3 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school. This rewarding role involves providing individual support to a pupil in Year 3, helping them access learning, build confidence, and thrive both academically and socially.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone with relevant childcare, education, or support experience who is looking to make a meaningful difference in a child's school journey.

Location: Nelson
Full-Time | Term Time Only: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Competitive Salary: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour
Start Date: Monday 2nd November 2026

The Role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:

The Ideal Candidate

• Has previous experience working with primary-aged children.
• Has experience supporting pupils with additional needs (desirable).

• Can build positive and trusting relationships with children.
• Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Is flexible, proactive, and able to use their initiative.
• Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
