Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd partners with a Gateshead SEND school to recruit Teaching Assistants to support pupils with ASC and additional needs. You will provide 1:1 support, aid communication and engagement, and help implement routines in a caring classroom setting.

Job description

Are you an experienced and committed Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)? We are working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking all through

  • SEND school in Gateshead that is seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs such as autism, ADHD, down syndrome and moderate learning difficulties.
The Role:
  • Provide 1:1 support for pupils with complex ASC needs
  • Support communication, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning
  • Implement structured routines and behaviour support strategies
  • Assist with personal care where required, ensuring dignity and safety
  • Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals
