Job summary

Aspire People Limited is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant (Autism) for a full-time, September start at a specialist school in Headington, Oxford. The role supports pupils aged 8-19 with ASC and SLD, in a structured autism-focused setting.

Are you an aspiring SEN Teaching Assistant, Psychology graduate, Support Worker, or experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in a specialist school?

We are currently recruiting a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a highly supportive specialist school in Headington, Oxford, from September.

This specialist school supports children and young people aged 8-19 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and severe learning difficulties, providing a structured, autism-specific environment where every pupil is encouraged to achieve their full potential.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll work alongside experienced teachers, therapists, and support staff to provide tailored learning and emotional support throughout the school day.

You'll be helping students to:

  • Access learning in the classroom.
  • Develop communication and social skills.
  • Build confidence and independence.
  • Reach their individual education and personal development goals.

You may also provide support with personal care where required, ensuring every student receives the highest standard of care and encouragement.

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient.
  • A strong communicator with excellent teamwork skills.
  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Adaptable and confident working in a specialist education environment.
