Job summary

New Directions Education are recruiting 1:1 Teaching Assistants to support primary school students in Congleton and surrounding areas. You will work 3+ days per week, providing dedicated one-to-one assistance to help with learning and development in a positive classroom setting.

The role focuses on building confidence, independence and strong relationships with students, with collaboration alongside class teachers and the wider support team.

Qualifications

New Directions Education are currently recruiting 1:1 Teaching Assistants for primary schools across Congleton and the surrounding areas, providing dedicated support to students who require additional help with their learning and development.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who are passionate about supporting individual students and helping them build confidence, independence and positive relationships within the classroom.

Due to the nature of these opportunities, candidates must be able to commit to working 3 or more days per week.

The Role:

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
• Supporting students to access learning and classroom activities
• Helping students develop confidence and independence
• Supporting communication, social and emotional development
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
• Adapting activities and support to meet individual needs
• Building a strong and trusting relationship with the student
• Working closely with the class teacher and wider support team
• Supporting an inclusive and positive classroom environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience working with children or young people
• Experience providing 1:1 support is desirable
• Experience supporting SEND or additional learning needs would be beneficial
• A patient, calm and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with students
• A flexible and adaptable approach
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
