Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Children's Support Worker in the East of England. The role involves 1:1 support for children aged 8-19 with complex needs and autism, within a classroom setting at a school that follows an EYFS-like curriculum.

You will work full-time, with personal care and flexible activities including forest garden visits and community outings. The position is a long-term contract for the academic year, with potential to go permanent for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in SEND schools.
• Personal care is required.
• Great communication skills, positive and energetic.
• Ability to remain calm and pro-active in challenging situations.
• Flexible to participate in outdoor activities and community visits.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a caring team that provides a safe, nurturing school environment.
• Provide emotional and physical support to enable children to reach their potential.
• Daily 1:1 support with students with severe and complex learning needs and autism.
