Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a 1:1 Support Assistant for a Primary School in Wallsend, commencing September. You will support pupils one-to-one and in small groups, delivering personalised interventions while following EHCP/IEP targets.

The role fosters social and emotional development, independence and positive relationships to help pupils access the curriculum and reach educational goals. Applicants with recent school experience and a willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS will be preferred.

• DBS check required or willingness to obtain one.
• Patience, empathy and a caring approach.

Your main responsibilities

• Supporting pupils one-to-one and in small groups, responding to their individual needs.
• Deliver personalised interventions and follow EHCP or IEP targets.
• Support the pupil’s social, emotional, and behavioural development by promoting independence, confidence, and positive relationships.
• Provide individualised support to a specific pupil, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their educational goals.

Requirements or Skills

• Recent experience working in a school or education setting.
• An enhanced DBS check (or be willing to obtain one).

• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
