1:1 Special Needs Teaching Assistant
A primary school in the heart of Gloucester is looking for a 1:1 teaching assistant to support students in Year 1 and 2 who have autism or complex needs, including some speech and language difficulties. The ideal candidate will have experience with special needs and be familiar with tools such as PECS and Makaton. Some personal care may be required, but this will be supported by other staff.
Working hours are 8:30-3:30, Monday to Friday, during term time. The role is initially until Christmas, with potential for extension based on performance. Experience in schools is preferred, but experience with children in other fields will also be considered. Reliability and consistency are important, as absences can significantly impact children who thrive on routine.
The school, located centrally in Gloucester, is known for its community-oriented atmosphere and Christian values.
In return, Zen offers competitive pay, office support, a user-friendly platform for managing assignments, and free online training to enhance your skills working with children.
If you're interested in starting in September and meet the requirements, please get in touch.
Applicants must hold an enhanced DBS check on the update service or be willing to apply for one as part of the application process.
