St Bernadette’s Catholic Primary School is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with complex needs in KS1. The role is 15 hours per week during term time, working mainly on a 1:1 basis while also supporting small-group sessions.

The successful candidate will contribute to a nurturing Catholic ethos and collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, and external professionals. The post is fixed-term, commencing 1 September 2026 and ending 31 August 2026.

Competenze

• Experience supporting children with complex needs in a primary setting.
• Ability to deliver 1:1 learning and lead small-group interventions.
• Experience delivering Phonics using multisensory strategies.
• Proven collaboration with SENCO, class teacher, parents and external agencies.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children; DBS and references required.

Mansioni

• Deliver bespoke learning activities under the guidance of the SENCO and class teacher, ensuring EHCP targets are met.
• Contribute to Phonics teaching using adaptive or multisensory methods.
• Monitor, record, and report pupil progress with focus on social, emotional, and academic development.
• Support the Catholic ethos of the academy and promote inclusive learning.
• Meet pastoral needs with parents, carers and external agencies as needed; support 1:1 and wider class.
