Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for an Outstanding primary school in Trafford. The role involves 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with Autism within the school’s SEND provision, starting after October half term.

You will work closely with the class teacher to adapt activities and foster engagement in KS2. Requirements include UK school experience and understanding of Autism, plus strong communication and a patient, adaptable approach.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a UK school (essential)
• Understanding of Autism and strategies to support children with special educational needs and disabilities
• Ability to adapt learning activities and provide consistent one-to-one support
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with the class teacher

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support for a Year 4 pupil within KS2/KS3 (KS2)
• Adapt learning activities and encourage engagement and independence
• Work closely with the class teacher to deliver personalised learning
• Support SEN provisions and contribute to an inclusive classroom environment
