Job summary

Quantum Scholars in Herefordshire is seeking supportive SEND/SEMH tutors to work with children and young people in Herefordshire. These in-person roles involve delivering one-to-one or small-group tuition and providing personalised educational support for students with SEND/SEMH needs.

We are looking for tutors who can adapt learning, build trust with students and collaborate with parents and professionals to promote academic, social and emotional development.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in an educational, tutoring or support setting
• Experience working with students with SEND and/or SEMH needs
• Experience delivering one-to-one or personalised support is desirable
• The ability to adapt learning and support to meet individual needs
• Strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills
• A patient, calm, flexible and supportive approach
• The ability to build trust and positive relationships with young people
• A genuine commitment to helping children and young people achieve their potential
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
• Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check, where required

SEND & SEMH Tutors - Herefordshire

Phase: Primary / Secondary / SEND / SEMH

Working arrangement: In-person

Quantum Scholars is looking for supportive, patient and experienced SEND/SEMH Tutors to work with children and young people across Herefordshire. These are in-person tutoring roles and are not online work.

The roles will involve providing personalised educational support to students who may have SEND and/or SEMH needs and would benefit from a flexible, individualised approach to learning. Tutors will be expected to build positive and trusting relationships with students, adapt their teaching and support to meet individual needs, and help young people develop their confidence, engagement and progress.

We are looking for tutors who are passionate about supporting young people who may have struggled within a traditional school environment and who can provide a calm, consistent and encouraging approach to education.

The role may involve
