Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant in Stourport-on-Severn to support an 8-year-old student with severe learning difficulties in a home-based learning environment.

The role is full-time and long-term with an ASAP start; you will work alongside a tutor providing one-to-one support, helping the student access activities and respond to individual learning needs. PAYE pay £100-£110 per day.

Qualifications

• Relevant Teaching Assistant / SEND qualification is desirable.
• Experience supporting children with severe learning difficulties / SLD.
• Experience supporting non-verbal children or young people.
• Experience providing one-to-one SEND support.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively alongside a tutor.
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated one-to-one support to the student.
• Help the student access learning activities and resources.
• Respond appropriately to the student’s individual communication and learning needs.
• Work alongside the student’s tutor to support learning.
