Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a secondary-aged pupil at a specialist school in Ormskirk. This morning-only role focuses on tailored 1:1 support, enabling the pupil to engage with learning and school routines.

You will work closely with teaching staff and the SEN team to adapt your approach to the pupil’s needs, fostering emotional regulation and positive behaviour while building trust and ensuring safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEN in a school setting.
• Experience working on a 1:1 basis is highly beneficial.
• Patient, calm and consistent approach.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and professional boundaries.

The Role

• Supporting one secondary-aged pupil on a 1:1 basis
• Providing tailored support throughout the morning
• Helping the pupil engage with learning and school routines
• Supporting emotional regulation, confidence and positive behaviour
• Working closely with teaching staff and the wider SEN team
• Adapting your approach to meet the individual needs of the pupil

We're Looking For

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN
• Experience working on a 1:1 basis would be highly beneficial
• Someone patient, calm and consistent
• A strong understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
• The ability to build positive relationships and provide reassurance
• A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential
