Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are looking for an experienced and committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a secondary-aged pupil at a specialist school in Ormskirk. This role offers morning-only hours and a chance to build trusted relationships with the pupil.

You will provide 1:1 tailored support, help with learning routines, and support emotional regulation alongside the wider SEN team. Experience with SEN and safeguarding is essential for success in the role.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
• Experience providing 1:1 support is highly beneficial.
• Patient, calm and consistent approach.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and professional boundaries.
• Ability to build positive relationships and provide reassurance.
• Passion for helping young people reach their potential.

Responsibilities

• Support one secondary-aged pupil on a 1:1 basis.
• Provide tailored support throughout the morning.
• Help the pupil engage with learning and routines.
• Support emotional regulation, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and the SEN team.
• Adapt approach to meet individual needs.
