Job summary

Academics Ltd is seeking dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across mainstream primary and secondary schools in Gloucester. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to help children overcome barriers to learning and to contribute to their academic, social and emotional development.

You will work closely with class teachers and SEN teams, delivering tailored support based on EHCPs or My Plans, and you will monitor progress and communicate pupil development clearly.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, patience and a positive, nurturing approach.
• Experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support tailored to the pupil's individual needs.
• Support pupils to participate in and engage with classroom activities.
• Implement personalised strategies and interventions to support learning and development.
• Encourage pupils' confidence, independence and social development.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and help create a supportive learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other members of the school team.
• Maintain clear communication regarding pupil progress and development.
• Support pupils in achieving their individual learning and development targets.
• Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and access the curriculum effectively.
