Job summary

Supply Staff Ltd is recruiting experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across primary schools in Gloucester. The role involves providing dedicated one-to-one support, enabling learners to access lessons and develop independence throughout the school day.

Candidates should have SEN experience, a calm and empathetic approach, and be able to manage challenging behaviour when required. DBS Update Service or willingness to apply is needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
• Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN is required.
• Experience providing one-to-one support is highly desirable.
• Calm, patient and empathetic approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to support challenging behaviour where required.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated one-to-one support to an individual pupil.
• Support access to classroom learning and activities.
• Assist with emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Help pupils develop confidence and independence.
• Follow individual education and support plans.
• Work closely with teachers and SEN staff.
• Support pupils during lessons, break times and other school activities.
• Maintain safeguarding and professional standards.
