Job summary

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant in Redruth. You will support one pupil throughout the day, helping access learning and build confidence within a calm classroom environment. The role is full-time, with a September start and potential extension beyond the term.

The ideal candidate is patient, caring, calm under pressure and reliable, with a passion for helping pupils overcome barriers to learning. Prior SEN experience is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable, but not essential.
• Ideal candidate will build positive relationships and provide consistent support for the pupil.

Responsibilities

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
• Supporting engagement in lessons and daily activities
• Encouraging communication, confidence and independence
• Assisting with routines, transitions and emotional regulation
• Working collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff, creating a calm, positive and nurturing environment
