Job summary

Academics Ltd is seeking dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistants for mainstream primary and secondary schools across Swindon. You will provide tailored support to individual pupils, helping them overcome barriers to learning and develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Role involves working closely with teachers to implement targeted interventions, monitor progress and build positive relationships in a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people.
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN is desirable.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
• The ability to provide two recent professional references.
• A genuine passion for supporting children and helping them reach their potential.
• Excellent communication, patience and a positive, nurturing approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support tailored to the pupil's individual needs.
• Support pupils to participate in and engage with classroom activities.
• Implement personalised strategies and interventions to support learning and development.
• Encourage pupils' confidence, independence and social development.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and help create a supportive learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other members of the school team.
• Maintain clear communication regarding pupil progress and development.
• Support pupils in achieving their individual learning and development targets.
