Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. in Honiton, Devon is recruiting a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs from 2nd November.

The role focuses on enabling access to the curriculum, building confidence and fostering independence within a supportive school environment. You will work closely with teachers and SEN staff in a dynamic setting, providing tailored 1:1 support and contributing to students' social and emotional development.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
• Knowledge of Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs would be beneficial.
• Patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to adapt support to meet individual needs.
• Genuine passion for helping children succeed.

Responsibilities

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs
• Supporting learning activities both inside and outside the classroom
• Encouraging engagement, independence and confidence
• Assisting with emotional regulation and social development
• Implementing strategies outlined in the pupil's support plan
• Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
• Promoting a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment
