Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant in Honiton, Devon, starting 2nd November. The role focuses on providing individual support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs to access the curriculum and build confidence in a supportive school setting.

You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs and staff to foster an inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive and progress is monitored regularly.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
• Knowledge of Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs would be beneficial.
• Patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to adapt support to meet individual needs.
• Genuine passion for helping children succeed.

Responsibilities

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs.
• Supporting learning activities both inside and outside the classroom.
• Encouraging engagement, independence and confidence.
• Assisting with emotional regulation and social development.
• Implementing strategies outlined in the pupil's support plan.
• Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Promoting a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment.
