Job summary

Teach Plus are recruiting an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Mill Hill, starting ASAP. This full-time role provides dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 6 pupil with ASD and PDA, helping them access the curriculum and participate in class.

The school values inclusion and wellbeing, with collaboration among SEN staff. The successful candidate will be patient, resilient and adaptable, building trust and supporting emotional regulation and independence.

Qualifications

• Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Year 6 curriculum.
• Enhanced DBS Certificate with Update Service and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with ASD and PDA.
• Support the pupil in accessing the Year 6 curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
• Implement strategies to reduce anxiety and support emotional regulation.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement with learning.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team to provide consistent support.
• Monitor the pupil's progress and adapt support strategies according to their needs.
