Job summary

Teach Plus Limited is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Mill Hill primary school on a full-time basis. You will provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil with ASD and PDA, helping the pupil access learning and build confidence.

A patient, adaptable, nurturing approach is essential to support emotional regulation, independence and positive social interactions. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and support staff to monitor progress and tailor

Qualifications

• Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
• Strong subject/curriculum knowledge relevant to the role.
• Enhanced DBS with Update Service.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with ASD and PDA.
• Support the pupil with accessing classroom learning and engaging with activities.
• Implement appropriate strategies to reduce anxiety and support emotional regulation.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interactions.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team to provide consistent support.
• Monitor the pupil's progress and adapt support strategies according to their individual needs.
