Job summary

Teaching Personnel are recruiting a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 pupil in a welcoming Christchurch primary in Dorset. The role focuses on academic, social and emotional development within a supportive classroom.

Experience with SEN or related learning needs is preferred; strong communication and teamwork are essential as you work with the teacher, SENCO and school staff to tailor learning activities and foster the pupil's confidence.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEN or additional learning needs.
• Patient, empathetic and child-centred approach.
• Ability to adapt learning activities to individual needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience in a primary school setting is desirable.
• Qualifications are beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil.
• Support pupil's academic, social and emotional development.
• Assist with tailored learning strategies and interventions.
• Work closely with class teacher, SENCO and school staff.
• Encourage engagement, independence and confidence throughout the day.
• Build a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil.
